Strategy
Cargill’s initiative of its various production facility expansion over the years includes an investment of over USD 800 million in the starch and corn processing plants in Indonesia and in other Asia countries including China which plays a major role in the company’s glucose products production and manufacturing. Especially the company’s continuous efforts in Indonesia support the country’s economy which results in a better operating environment for business in the country and the export of products to other international markets. For instance, the Minister for Economic Affairs has mentioned that Cargill’s investment has boosted the country’s food & beverage industry and hence they are also initiating several steps to ensure the availability of the required raw materials for processing. Moreover, the company’s extensive network of research & development centers and facilities with experienced scientists and experts plays a major role in product innovation that is specific to the market and industry trends.
