January 2018	Product launch	ContiTech’s Benecke-Hornschuch Surface Group launched a new laif VyP upholstery material. It is a breathable upholstery material, a hybrid material with a combination of vinyl and polyurethane.
June 2017	Merger	ContiTech merged with Benecke-Kaliko A.G., which develops and manufactures decorative and technical surface materials, which now serves under the Continental brand.
