Strategy
Walmart Inc. took several strategic initiatives to expand its market presence and product offerings. These initiatives are intended to augment growth, expand its business with new technologies and products, and enhance its geographical reach. In October 2022, the company completed the renovation of its regional distribution centre (RDC) in Palestine, Texas, with automated technology. This technology would modernize the company’s broad supply chain network by increasing the speed, efficiency, and safety at which products are distributed. Walmart Inc. continues to view strategic acquisitions as a major part of its growth strategy. In October 2022, Walmart Inc. signed an agreement to acquire Alert Innovation, an e-grocery fulfillment automation company. This acquisition could enable the company to quickly reach more customers by deploying market fulfillment centers (MFCs) with greater speed, delivering a great shopping experience and competitive advantage in omnichannel fulfillment.
