December 2022–Bavarian Nordic announced a new agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DOD) Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) for the advanced development of MVA-BN WEV, a prophylactic vaccine candidate against Western, Eastern, and Venezuelan equine encephalitis virus.
November 2022–Bavarian Nordic announced the signing of a cooperative procurement agreement with HERA, the European Commission's Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority, for the provision of up to 2 million doses of its MVA-BN monkeypox vaccine in 2023 and 2024.
October 2022–Bavarian Nordic announced that the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health and the Swiss Armed Forces had ordered 100,000 doses of MVA-BN smallpox and monkeypox vaccine.
October 2022–Bavarian Nordic announced a supply arrangement with a Latin American country for their monkeypox vaccine.
July 2022–Bavarian Nordic announced that the European Commission (EC) has extended the marketing authorization for the Company’s smallpox vaccine, IMVANEX to include protection from monkeypox and disease caused by vaccinia virus.
