July 2020–Dynavax Technologies and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai ("Mount Sinai") have established a collaboration to develop a universal influenza (flu) vaccine. Mount Sinai's current work in this field is supported by a contract award from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as part of the NIAID-established Collaborative Influenza Vaccine Innovation Centers (CIVICs).
