June 2018	Product Development	ROHM introduced new sensor shield (expansion board) equipped with 8 sensor boards (e.g. accelerometer, barometric pressure, geomagnetic, and heart rate sensors.). This shield will help sensor operation and reduce load in power devices, which will boost the IoT market.
–	Expansion	ROHM started the construction of their production building at its Apollo plant in Chikugo, Japan. The expanded production capacity is to meet the growing demand for silicon carbide (SiC) power devices.
–	Partnership	ROHM and GaN Systems, the global leader in GaN power semiconductors, entered into a strategic partnership to enhance their GaN (gallium nitride) power semiconductor business. This partnership leveraged GaN Systems’ industry leading capabilities in power GaN transistors along with ROHM’s comprehensive footprint in semiconductor and considerable resources in the design and manufacture of electronic components.
