Strategy
The company sees expansion as key strategy and continued partnership & collaboration of its services to the existing global network. Tenaris inaugurated its new fully automated Dopeless Technology line on May 4th 2016, at its threading facility in Aberdeen. The USD 4.5 million investment increases the plant’s Dopeless production capacity per year to 10,800 pieces from 3,600. It allows Tenaris to serve customers better operating in extreme conditions with a technology that increases operational efficiency, improves safety, minimizes the environmental impact of drilling and reduces costs. Tenaris opened an advanced corrosion laboratory in Brazil on November 24. With an investment of 2.8 million USD, Tenaris built the lab on an area of 180 square meters at its welded tubes mill in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo. The laboratory will be focused on the development, qualification and certification of pipes and fittings used for the exploration and production of oil and gas in sour environments.
