Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) are deployed near the ground; they operate using battery power to communicate over radio frequency wireless links. There are two types of Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS)—passive and active. The Unattended Ground Sensors (UGS) currently used are passive that detect a change in the natural field of energy.
