Analytical insights on Enterprise VSAT Market covering market dynamics, competitive landscape, and strategic outlook.
The Enterprise VSAT Market market is projected to reach $9.97B by 2024, growing at 8.2% CAGR. The Service segment holds the largest share.
Improvement in DVB S2X Technology and growing adoption of VSAT networking systems for BFSI industry are some of the factors that drives the global enterprise VSAT market. However, the rain fade phenomenon is one of the factors that hinder the growth of the global enterprise VSAT market during the forecast period.
Moreover, the emergence of 5G technology that allow vendors to integrate it with VSAT communication satellites is expected to better prospects for the global enterprise VSAT market during the forecast period.
DVB S2X is an extended version of the second-generation digital video broadcasting (DVB-S2). DVB S2X was introduced to provide additional features and technologies for core applications of DVB S2 technology including VSAT, Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG), and Direct to Home (DTH). DVB S2X technology offers enhanced performance & spectral efficiency and improved multiplexing gain that helps in increasing the network capacity of the communication systems. Furthermore, the companies are offering enhanced connectivity devices integrated with DVB S2X technology for increasing operational efficiency and enhancing the overall user experience. Moreover, the older version of DVB S2 technology offers high roll-off factor (20–25%) that restricts the signal transmission with lower speed and eventually hampers the network connectivity.
However, advances in DVB S2 technology have led to the introduction of DVB-S2X technology which helps to reduce the roll-off factor to 5%, 10%, and 15% which results in gaining high network bandwidth. The advanced DVB S2X offers lower roll-off factor and improved filtering technologies to permit optimal carrier spacings. This advancement helps vendors to offer highly advanced hardware equipment for high-speed connectivity. In January 2019, VT iDirect, a subsidiary of Vision Technologies Systems, Inc., partnered with STC Solutions, one of the leading ICT companies in Saudi Arabia launched the first iDirect DVB-S2X technology in the Middle East. This partnership enables STC Solutions to deliver high-speed connectivity and broaden its service offerings to meet the requirements of high-bandwidth applications at a reasonable cost. In February 2017, Newtec, an equipment manufacturer for satellite communications, expanded its DVB S2X product portfolio with the launch of MDM3310 and MDM2210 modems. These modems offer high-performance connectivity for IP-based satellite modems to address customer requirements. Additionally, VT iDirect, also collaborated with Inmarsat plc., a satellite telecommunications company to provide DVB S2X technology for the enhancement of the latter’s mobile broadband platform, Global Xpress (GX). The integration of DVB S2X technology with GX mobile broadband platform helps to deliver better connectivity services to its customers.
The integration of VSAT satellite with 5G network technology offers seamless and high-speed connectivity to any device situated at remote locations. As compared to the terrestrial cellular providers, VSAT satellites provide a single global network, minimize business support, and lower the operational cost.
VSAT satellite with 5G network covers un-served areas (onboard aircraft, remote locations, and railway passengers) and under-served locations (rural and suburban areas) that cannot be covered by the terrestrial 5G network. Furthermore, VSAT also supports 5G network to mitigate the problem of network congestion or overload of networks. In this regard, the emergence of 5G technology integrating with VSAT helps to improve the network coverage areas, IoT communications, and backhaul connectivity. For instance, in February 2019, Newtec, a leading manufacturer of technologies and satellite communication equipment, partnered with Wind River, a software development company to create a Newtec 5G satellite infrastructure solution. This partnership helps Newtec to scale up its business and its customer base by offering seamless connectivity, high network capacity, and overall end user experience.
Various frequencies such as C-band, Ka-band, and Ku-band are used by VSAT satellites to carry out signal transmissions. However, during heavy rainfall, the raindrops can weaken the signal strength by scattering and absorbing electromagnetic signals from the VSAT satellite. The frequency in Ku and Ka-bands gets affected by heavy rain conditions as their size is similar to that of raindrops, which act as tiny prisms or mirrors deflecting the signal. However, C-band is mostly resistant to poor weather conditions; C-band frequency waves pass through the raindrops without any deflection however loses the signal strength that hampers the overall signal transmission of the frequency bands. Also, the degradation of the signal strength depends upon the intensity of rainfall. In this regard, the rain fade disrupts the signal transmission affecting the performance of VSAT satellite.
Near-term growth will likely concentrate in modular bioreactor lines and closed-system media workflows that shorten validation cycles while preserving batch traceability.
Partnerships between CDMOs and instrumentation vendors should accelerate standard datasets for comparability across sites, improving forecasting models used in capacity planning.
Longer horizon, organoid and microphysiological adoption may reshape segment mix; teams that invest early in assay interoperability and cloud QC hooks are better positioned to capture upside without fragmenting their analytics stack.
