Michael Porter’s five forces model gives a framework that models the global antifungal treatment market, which is influenced by five forces. The strategic business managers, trying to create an edge over competitive firms in the global In-flight advertising market can utilize this model to better comprehend the industry connection in which the firm operates. The components of each of the forces and the degree of impact of each component in the context of the global 3D sensor market have been broken down and analyzed.
Threat of New Entrants
The threat of new entrants in the global 3D sensor market is expected to be low as the initial cost required for establishing manufacturing facilities is significantly high. Furthermore, the manufacturing of semiconductor components is highly capital-intensive. The rising cost of the extraction, purification, and making silicon useful for semiconductors also increases the barriers for new players to enter the market. Moreover, the presence of established players with a strong brand image providing 3D sensors also limits new entrants in the market.
Bargaining Power of Suppliers
The players active in the 3D sensor market include Texas Instruments Incorporated, Samsung Electronics, and Infineon Technologies AG. The supplier concentration in the market is low. The components provided by the suppliers are similar in features. Moreover, the switching cost of the buyers is high. Thus, the component suppliers of the 3D sensors are expected to have moderate bargaining power.
Bargaining Power of Buyers
The concentration of buyers in the market is high and there are a few manufacturers with strong brand image. However, their technical expertise is high. For instance, Apple Inc. and others are the end users of Sony’s 3D sensors. Therefore, the buyers in the 3D sensor market have a moderate bargaining power.
Threat of Substitutes
At present, there are no available substitutes for 3D sensors in the market; therefore the threat of the new alternatives is likely to be low during the forecast period. Currently, 3D sensors are being widely adopted for integration withvarious wearable devices, the demand for which is rapidly increasing in the consumer electronics market.
Intensity of Rivalry
The players in the global market for 3D sensors is expected to witness a significant degree of rivalry during the forecast period. The major players in the 3D sensor market include Infineon Technologies AG, Texas Instruments Incorporated, STMicroelectronics, and Intel Corporation, which collectively account for around 40% of the global 3D sensor market. As the demand for the 3D sensor is high and manufacturers are less, therivalry among the players is enhanced.
